Beyond the mortal body
We are but bones and a weathered
Look–no, we are more
A fledgling soul becoming aged
In an old world
Into the stars we go and into the light
We waltz–to forget everything
We have known and to start anew
How the day breaks–a dawn–to
Behold following the tides
And ride upon the rays of the sun
Are we flesh made real by
Experience?
We grow richer the moment we lose
Our material weights
And to swim towards heaven’s lights
To dispel our agony and defeat
To now relish in happiness
And favour the beauty of the surreal
And obscure–
Let us rejoin the unknown world
And learn that the darkness
Only stays with us for a moment–
Walk the path that is quiet–
Write down the words that reflect
What was gleaned from the day;
Into the light we pray to forever
Understand that the journey
Will continue even beyond the day
Our body relents and our mind
Joins the cosmic tide of the infinite
Realm that was known to us
All along.
