Love him or hate him, Tom Brady will go down as one of the best of if not the best quarterback to have ever laced up in the NFL whenever he decides to retire.

I won’t bore you with his list of accomplishments here because you can find it all over the net. But I will look at his team’s most recent SuperBowl win. If you didn’t watch It, you missed a gem. It was perhaps one of the greatest Superbowl games to have ever been played. I wasn’t rooting for any side. Who ever won would be fine with me. The Altanta Falcons had a spectacular season and deserved to be in the big game. Matt Ryan is finally being recognized as the elite QB he rightfully is. And for the New England Patriots it was old hat. They had a good season and played well during the playoffs to forge a 7th Superbowl appearance since 2001.

And it was a great Superbowl played by two great teams. Unfortunately the inexperience caught up with the Falcons when Tom Brady and company calmly came back from a 28-3 deficit to tie it in regulation and ended up winning in overtime 34-28. It was another awesome finish for the Patriots who have averaged a Superbowl win in every season since 2001.

What makes it so amazing is Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round as the 199th pick overall. In other words the chances of him being a QB in the NFL was close to nil. But when the opportunity arose Brady took the bull by the horns and never looked back.

So what can we learn from Brady’s latest Superbowl Win?

1. Winning doesn’t get old. Winning should be a habit and should never get old. Winning is about learning from your mistakes and working with a system that works.

2. Never give up. Coming back from a 28-3 score is daunting especially against a good team like the Falcons. Yet the key to situations like the one Brady and New England faced was to stay calm and to never give up. It would have been easier to just throw in the towel and called it a season. However Brady calmly went about his business and focused on the game at hand and successed.

3. Build on experience. Although New England has 5 Championships they have also suffered 2 tough defeats against the New York Giants. I bet Brady used those experiences to propel his team to victory in Super Bowl 51. A loss can be tough but It can also be a great learning tool to succeed down the road.

4. Don’t listen to the Nay-Sayers. I hate to say it but unfortunately there are more negative influences out there then positive. It can be easy to slip into the negative mind set and become average and coast. That mentality kills hopes, deflates dreams and can infects others. Don’t listen to nay-sayers! Be strong and follow a path that you desire. After serving a 4 game suspension to start the season, Brady came back to guide the Pats to a 11-1 record and the playoffs.

5. Always believe in yourself. Life can be tough on you but never relinquish your principals and always believe in yourself. Brady has won so much through the years because he believes in himself. If you believe you can do it then you can. Don’t stop believing as the song goes…

6. Believe in others. Championships are very hard to come by and they aren’t won by one person. Tom Brady is one of the best QBs of all time because he not only believes in himself but others around him.
